She's really beautiful I have a question. Have you ever tried to make a doll that looked like someone? [link] Just curious at the moment.

I am not really good at "portraying-in-sculpt" people :). Here is my version of Mia Wasikowska [link] and here is her real picture [link]

Excuse me? Not really good? Are you re really that insecure about your work or are you just fishing for a compliment? :D (Just kidding) Seriously though I think you would do a fine job. The only thing stopping me fro asking you to do one of my little Cerai is the money I also want to eventually get something done like this with my other grand daughter Macy who I need to put up some pics of soon. How much would you charge to do one for me? Just a ball park figure for now and we'll talk again when I actually have some money.

Hi Jon! Thank you! I do not feel secure about my sculpting skills, this is my dirty secret Trues. Cold critic is preferable to a sweet complements.
Your little one is so adorable! I hope It will not upset you if I refuse to do a portrait commission. It is nothing personal. Commissions are really big pressure us it is and a portrait commission would be a nightmare for me. It feels like I never-ever got happy with final work and keep redo and retouch every little detail. Last commission took me a Month and I had 2 to 4 hours a sleep at night, some members of my Family start to forget my face:)
Let me know your "budget" when you will decide to do this and I will drop a note on an doll sculptors board a note and will help you to contact. There are some very Talented people out there who would do this for you with a big pleasure!
Hugs!

You have absolutely nothing to feel insecure about but I do understand the "nightmare" of trying to do something like this so don't feel bad for refusing me. It's fine. I appreciate your offer of help in finding someone to do the work. One thing I want to ask is this. You see I have absolutely no idea what to offer for a commission like this so perhaps you could help me figure out what to offer in dollar amounts as payment. I know it is expensive but to me that is worth it to have a "doll" sculpture of my two favorite little girls that I can pass on to them later when they get older. Oh and one more thing I have a real love for this type of sculpture and for doll making in general so if you don't mind introducing me to some of your friends who do this kind of work I would greatly appreciate it. These days I don't get the time here I would like so the one thing I don't do is what I should and that is go through galleries of faves and friends lists.
